Where play is for all ages.

Where play is for all ages.

Why should play be just for kids?

Too often, parents are stuck choosing between finding care for their little ones or carving out time for themselves.

We decided it didn’t have to be that way. Play-Date Collective was born to make play part of every family’s life—so kids can explore, imagine, and have fun, and grown-ups get to laugh, connect, and recharge. Every experience we create sparks connection—between parents, children, and even neighbors—so no one has to do family life alone. And because strong families are the heart of vibrant neighborhoods, we root everything in community, partnering with local businesses and celebrating the people and places that make our city feel like home.

Sample Date Night: Grown-Up Play

  • A black and white photograph of two women walking along a city street near parked and moving cars.

    Step 1 — Start with a Stroll

We’ll map out an easy neighborhood wander with built-in stops (think: a hidden mural, that new coffee shop staying open late). No logistics, just fresh air and space to chat.

  • A man and a woman sitting across from each other at a dining table in a restaurant, engaged in conversation. The wall behind them is decorated with a collection of framed photographs arranged in a collage. The scene appears to be in black and white.

    Step 2 — Support a Local Gem

We snag you a table at a locally-loved spot you’ve been meaning to try. Menus, reservations, timing — all handled. All you do is show up hungry.

  • People dancing closely together at a social gathering, with some smiling and enjoying themselves.

Step 3 — Play Time, But Make It Adult

Instead of defaulting to Netflix, we’ll line up something playful and community-rooted: trivia night, live music, maybe even a late-night pottery class.

  • A man and woman with foreheads touching, eyes closed, whispering to each other in close-up black and white photo.

Step 4 — Come Home, More Connected

You walk back in knowing your kids had their own play-filled evening and are tucked safely into bed. With the night still yours, you can unwind together — maybe with a nightcap, maybe just sinking into the quiet — carrying the spark of connection back home with you.

Meet the Founder

Simone Radliff (she/her) is a seasoned early childhood educator, activist, and community builder with over a decade of experience working with young children and families. She has called the Bay Area home for the past 13 years, where her work and life have been shaped by the city’s culture of creativity and community.

With a background in political theory and critical social thought, Simone believes deeply that education is a form of resistance and that play is a powerful catalyst for justice, joy, and connection. After years in the classroom — from circle time to civic engagement — she launched Play-Date Collective to reimagine how we support families. Her mission is rooted in the belief that when children thrive, communities do too.

With advanced training in Reggio Emilia–inspired practices, a commitment to equity and inclusion, and an eye for curating meaningful experiences, Simone brings both heart and strategy to everything she does. Beyond her professional life, she takes her own play seriously — practicing aerial arts and circus performance, experimenting with textile art and fashion, getting lost in books, chasing live music, and dancing whenever the opportunity arises.

Play-Date Collective is her love letter to working parents, playful kids, and the radical possibility of collective joy. Because care should be a shared responsibility — and play belongs to all of us.
